Ministry of Finance’s PR Training and Workshop

Communication and Information Services General Directorate (KLI) of Ministry of Finance cooperated with Association of Press Publisher (SPS) held a public relation (PR) training and workshop on last 25th April in Swiss-Bell Hotel, Mangga Besar, Jakarta. All Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) PR Officers followed.

There were 41 participants from 10 Kemenkeu’s Directorate: KLI as the initiator, General Directorate of Budget, General Directorate of Tax, General Directorate of Customs, General Directorate of Treasury, General Directorate of State Property, General Directorate of Fiscal Balance, and General Directorate of Debt Management. Two others are General Inspectorate of Fiscal Policy and General Inspectorate of Finance Education and Training.

According to KLI’s Head Department, Herry Siswanto, this program was deliberately done to increace the Kemenkeu’s PR Officers competences for monitoring news function in media.

 “I hope they will capable to arrange public relation strategies and recommendations to keep and increase this ministry reputation in front of public,” said Herry in the middle of training.

Herry also added, all PR Officers knowledge have to be expanded about how to manage the issues and its counter. This training would give them an understanding about how to respond issues in media.

There were three sessions in this training. After each session, some cases was given and they had to solve and practised how to face it, made press conferences about it, and analised those cases.

The event was opened by SPS Executive Director, Asmono Wikan, who gave a matter about issue management in media. After that, the training and workshop began.

First session was about “Counter Issues Strategy in Media” which was given by President Royston Advisory, Reza A. Maulana. After lunch, the session countinued with “Do and Dont’s in Press Conference” by ex-anchor of RCTI TV Station, Kukuh Sanyoto, and the last session was about “Build a Reputation Through Key Messages in Media” by Senior Consultant Spirit Public Relation, Hifni Alifahmi.

The program was finished and all participants got certificates from SPS which were signed by SPS General Chairman, Dahlan Iskan.*anneila
